Some managers were good, the kind of work you did was interesting and impactful

Too cliquey and too political. You needed to hang out in the right circles to get promotions. The review system was REALLY unfair. The company culture was stuck in the 90s.

In recent years, we have taken steps to help everyone in the company better understand the process around performance evaluation and career growth at all levels.

It used to be a good place to work. They will hand a promotion to anyone with a pulse because everyone else has already found better opportunities. 401k is 2nd to none if you are willing to give up your sanity and morals for it.

Cons

Recent changes to upper management at this location are laughable at best. They have managed to completely crush morale and any sort of self-motivation in a single year. The plant manager's highest priority is setting up his next appearance in the local newspaper, tv, etc. The overall management theme seems to be; constantly change their mind and change organizational direction for no reason, complain about and blame subordinates for limited progress, continually deflect blame to others. When that fails, lie your way out of it.
