Pros

A large company with opportunities to transfer from one department to another. Opportunity to work on large systems and databases, with a large client base.

Cons

Compensation slightly lower than peer banks, even though still reasonably competitive. Poor profit results mean hits to employee bonuses. Training is poor. Benefits package is not very good, compared to other banks.

Pros

-large firm with decent job stability -opportunites to grow within the firm -satisfactory compensation -benefits are decents -employee share purchase plan is a benefit -free banking, staff rates on loans, cc's etc

Cons

-large firm, difficult to be noticed amongst the crowd -compensation package, relative to other positions in same field is avg -beaurocracy -seems that mgmnt seems to be disconnected from the avg employee-most likely all large firms feel this -morale, seems to be at a low; i personally work at cibc mortgages and lending, over the past few years things have gone downhill; morale low, nepotism rampant, over worked under paid
