Pros

Great perks and opportunities for advancement even if at least in lateral departments. As a large corporate there are numerous other opportunities to discover.

Cons

There is little to no room for autonomy or creativity and management was completely disengaged and locked into a silo amongst themselves.

Pros

location free banking large corporation that in theory should have opportunity to grow current department has a relaxed work environment that allows for a fair work/life balance

Cons

- no investment in employee growth - courses etc - both in house and 3rd party - us vs them attitidue - sr management towards mid level managers and employees - lines of communication seem to be closed - compensation seems to be lower than competitors - not a dynamic environment in that cibc seems to always be playing catch-up vs it's competitors - opportunities seem to bottleneck and sr management does not seem to have a desire in holding onto quality employees
