Warning: Toxic culture led by new management - GWS Enterprise APAC

Pros

It's better than no job at all.

Cons

Redundancies have led to a culture of fear. Over the past year, I have witnessed disrespectful remarks from leadership, and the organization’s tolerance of such behavior reflects a troubling lack of integrity. Too many leaders appear to prioritize personal interests over the well-being of the business and its employees, contributing to a toxic work environment. This is impacting client retention and new business opportunities. Investigations into ethical concerns involving senior leaders are often delayed, highlighting a clear double standard in how leadership and lower-level staff are held accountable.

Pros

working for a prestigious company

Cons

My time there was pretty disappointing. A few of us were let go without any warning or explanation, and it had nothing to do with performance. The culture here was all about optics. If you fit their “preferred” mold (private school, white) you were more likely to be promoted. Meanwhile, most of the people let go with me were from Asian backgrounds, which felt like more than just a coincidence. After talking to former employees, it seems like this wasn’t a one-off thing—others had noticed the same patterns. CBRE might have a big name, but if you’re not in their inner circle, don’t expect much in terms of fairness or career growth.

Great Co-Workers, But Corporate Disconnect is Frustrating

Pros

The work was rewarding, especially when we were busy. My co-workers were amazing, and we truly became a family. I knew many of them even before CBRE took over the contract, and that camaraderie is what I will miss the most.

Cons

Despite the positive environment among coworkers, there was a complete lack of communication and empathy from upper management. It often felt like corporate representatives were just reading from a script, showing no genuine concern for employees during layoffs. There’s a significant disconnect between upper executives and front-line workers, with greed driving decision-making that negatively impacts morale. Additionally, I faced challenges with a supervisor whose behavior went unchecked for far too long, which I believe may have led to my denial of advancement opportunities. The lack of support and accountability in that situation was disappointing and added to an already difficult work environment.
