Pros

30 years ago when I joined Boeing the environment felt like you belonged to the Boeing Family. In certain job codes you can be promoted to senior management in less than 5 years when starting out as a paycode 1.

Cons

The Boeing environment has been deteriorating slowly over the years with reduction in benefits, reduction in keeping high end employees and ethical management behavior. When senior managers get caught, all employees pay in the way of lost bonuses and mandatory training that keeps piling on. Senior managers continue to get six figure bonuses annually no matter how good or bad the company performs. Bad employees cannot get fired Company eliminated paycodes 4, 5 & 6 in a scheme to become more competitive but they kept all of the lousy managers. In certain job codes you can be promoted to senior management in less than 5 years when starting out as a paycode 1, resulting in the continuance of bad management.

Pros

-The experience. Although, this really depends on your manager and your team's activities. Like all places, management has a mix of managers. Supply chain has a couple of good managers, but mostly poor ones. They might be good at what they do, but they are poor leaders. Advise to everyone: Just because someone is good at getting the job done, it does not mean they will make good managers/directors. Some managers lack basic introspection skills/critical thinking skills/empathy and don't see high turn out as their problem, they see as they employee not being 'good'.

Cons

-Salary is below market average -Bonus structure is a joke -Healthcare is an even bigger joke (I got more coverage and had lower payments with the insurance offered as a PT employee at (will not name) store when I was in college than I do at a Fortune 500 company. -As of January, BDSI aligned with Boeing titles, this meant that a bunch of us employees who were salary were 'demoted' to hourly (this was done to employees who had been here for over 5 years as well not just new employees). -There is a cafeteria where food is expensive AF. -Their idea of gifts is vouchers for the above mentioned cafeteria. -They've also prohibited employee use of single-stall/unisex restrooms and forcing employees to use their keycards to be allowed into the other restrooms. - Warehouse employees make $11-12/hr. Even Amazon pays more. For anyone thinking of applying: DON'T. You could probably make more money, get treated better.

Pros

- Company benefits are unmatched - 401K specifically is very generous - Very well-recognized brand, great resume builder - Compensation is great, regular salary adjustments and bonuses depending on company performance - Good place to start your career - Company is huge, so there is lots of opportunity

Cons

- Difficult to move up and around unless you're willing to relocate - Management varies from group to group and sets the tone for the organization; if you have a bad manager/senior management, then you're going to have a terrible time - Toxic culture comes from poor management; lots of internal 'reorg's - Bad people are promoted, which also creates resentment
