Pros

Work/life balance is good. Weekly workload is manageable most of the time. Pay/benefits aren't industry leading anymore, but they're not 'terrible' either.

Cons

Difficult to get ahead due to lack of promotion opportunities. Pay has become mediocre and everyone's leaving the company for better paying jobs. Business tools and programs are horribly outdated. Most of the time, you'll be working in software programs older than you are. Company culture has gone full "woke" in the last couple of years, openly basing hiring and promotion decisions on gender and the color of your skin. The company tries to hold everyone back at a Level 2 or Level 3 pay code as long as possible, while giving them Level 4 and Level 5 work. No clear vision from management, everything seems chaotic all the time. The company is made up of hundreds of little fiefdoms, each with their own set of overlapping processes and procedures. It's a huge bureaucratic mess and most of the time you're fighting the internal bureaucracy to get the smallest things done.

Pros

- Good work/life balance - Not much challenging work to do, so if you want to have a leisure time at home then it is a good company for you.

Cons

- No ownership of technology & product, hence not much control over work that you do. - Core requirements come from US team, decisions are taken from US team, no participation in any decision discussion whatsoever - Projects are mainly taken over from service based companies like TCS, Infosys, which were delegated to these companies by Boeing earlier. - India team is treated as service/maintenance team with no control over any development activities - Roles & responsibilities are not defined, it's like survival of the fittest environment, projects are not challenging but the work environment is. - As it is not an IT company, no defined processes for Quality, Project or Product Management. - As it is not an IT company, and as India team is considered as maintenance provider, pay is around 70% below market average.

Pros

Basic compensation needs met to retain average or below average talent. Big company with lots of internal job opportunities.

Cons

Company will not compete on salary to keep talented employees. They have an outdated and underrated salary lookup table and refuse to recognize increases in market compensation and continue to lose talent as a result. Mid-senior level new hires will be disappointed by the entry level vacation days offered (2 weeks). The company is completely inflexible negotiating this because it is defined in the union contract. Extremely management heavy workforce. An engineer has 8 layers of management above them to reach the CEO. During layoffs, management is untouchable. After all the engineers are laid off, lower quality managers are demoted to the highest engineering levels. Union dues must be paid or else be terminated by breach of contract. All new employees fall under a lower class tier of benefits than the previous hire date vintages which receive pension, retiree medical benefits and higher 401k matching amounts. New employees are required to pay the same union dues even though they receive lower tier benefits, thereby are forced to fund and support the bifurcated class system which holds them back.
