Pros

Trauma bonding with the team

Cons

The contracts team has been chronically understaffed - but management continues to gaslight staff and fire people for trying to explain that the levels of work are untenable. If you’ve been approached by a recruiter for this role - run, they won’t tell you this but you have to work bank holidays, you need to message on the team chat every time you leave your desk (brb every time you go to the toilet!), and you will be constantly micromanaged. Recruiters will tell you there’s internal mobility, but contracts management will either fire you or block any move for you.

Pros

- high salary considering the nature of the role (replying questions and doing cold calls) - free breakfast and pantry snacks (wide selection of snacks and drinks) - no overtime work, 8am to 6pm strictly - young crowd, all fresh grads (fun environment)

Cons

- Misleading job title, you are basically helpdesk. You can only go to sales after 2 years and it's not guaranteed. - Your skills are not useful outside the company, zero mobility - High micro managing level, you are monitored for every single metric - Obvious biasedness, opportunities always go to the same few people - Rigid schedule. Your lunch time and breaks and decided for you, you get no say. Very strict 1h lunch time.

Pros

Great Benefits, pay above average, good offices

Cons

The place is rampant with folk who have been here for 15 - 30 years. They hoard all the good meaningful work and pass the paper-pushing work to qualified new hires. Feedback about this to TL/Manager? HR falls on deaf years. It's not a revenue-generating group in the company and is heavily neglected in terms of work-life balance. As a new hire, I had multiple people on my team come out a vent their frustrations to me, which tells me they aren't happy and haven't been for a long time. Technology is old at least 8 years behind other fintech/tech companies. Bloomberg as a company doesn't live up to the hype it formerly gathered for its technology and culture.
