Pros

I have no pros for this place

Cons

I got this job within a week of moving to the area. At first I was a temp employee and I’m not gonna lie I was treated better as a temp. After being hired on I was told that they were planning on switching to 12 hour shifts on a rotating 2-3-2 schedule. I was told by my supervisor, when I was asked if I could work 12 hours, we would be given a 20% differential for working overnight shifts. Since I was told that I agreed to work the 12 hour overnights. I found out after the switch that he lied to my face to try and keep me on; furthermore a 20% differential was never on the table only an increase from 10% to 15% was. Shortly after I was hired on I was moved to a line that I received no training on. When I asked for help I received attitude from the supervisor and was told “Someone who couldn’t even speak English ran that line, figure it out.” I had to then get help from a coworker in order to get training and got yelled at for asking for help from him by the supervisor. I was then informed that the coworker I asked for help was on a special project and wasn’t supposed to be interrupted; which I had no way of knowing. I was also put on the most unstable line running a product which I received no training on and had trouble with it solidifying in the extruder. I found out after the fact that if that happens you have to lower the speed and increase the temperature; which again I was never told. After putting my two weeks notice in, I was promised by one of the supervisors that I would have my remaining vacation hours paid out. After my last day I received a certified letter saying “Your remaining vacation hours will not be paid out.” We were promised by the head of engineering that we would have air conditioning solutions figured out due to summer being in full swing. The company got industrial swamp coolers which barely helped with the 100+ degree temperatures and only increased humidity. Whenever it was a hot night my supervisor would run and hide in an air conditioned office and leave the rest of us out on the sweltering floor without even telling us where he was going. They finally decided to invested in coolers to hold water and keep it cold but only kept them full for a single week. One of my coworkers got heatstroke and passed out shortly after getting home. I got so sick from working in such hot conditions that my girlfriend nearly had to take me to the hospital. There was a water cooler but it got locked in the plant manager’s office. We were invited to a summer party by HR which started at 12 PM and went until 5 PM. We were asked to go at 3 to enjoy the food and the clothing that they were giving out. When one of my coworkers arrived right at 3 they (HR) were in the process of packing up the party and didn’t even seem to care that he drove an hour two hours earlier than he had to, for nothing. I request vacation time due to having a long drive coming up and was told that it would be OK. After my paycheck deposited into my account I noticed it seemed less than usual and realized when returning home from my trip that I was shorted 4 hours which I was never paid out and got penalized for. When I was hired on I was told that this company takes safety very seriously. I slipped and fell on a slick floor and landed on a 250 degree celsius extruder and burnt from my elbow to my armpit. When I went to my supervisor about it he said “oh that’s just a minor injury it doesn’t have to be reported.” I had a family emergency and had to leave early. One of the supervisors was extremely kind and gave me a lift home. When I came in the next day another supervisor was extremely rude and implied that I should work even when having a family crisis. To recapitulate this place is a mess with incompetent management and unsafe conditions. Management acts like high schoolers and spends the entire shift pointing fingers instead of actually training their employees. I was told I am eligible to be re hired but I do not plan on ever coming back.
