      Pros

      Brand name, good money, good location, very competent co workers, very diverse work and opportunities to grow are very high

      Cons

      Long working hours because of which work life balance takes a toll. Bein a bank, it also requires that you cannot work from home much because of data confidentiality, so flexibility is lost a bit

      Pros

      Fairly well respected brand. Nice offices and facilities. Some ability to move internally (within the Group even), including the possibility of relocating internationally.

      Cons

      Intensely political. The Private Bank appears to have an identity problem - thinks its an investment bank in private bank clothing. Almost impossible to get promotions or raises. Very high turnover in staff. They don't seem to care about this at all.

      Pros

      Big company, benefits are very good compared to other firms. Name stands out on a resume.

      Cons

      I was in a rotational program for IT. The program is the worse of its kind. Most people that join this firm for training subsequently leave the firm. Employee morale is very low. HR (who manage the program), tell grads to basically shut up and sit down and take any seat Barclays gives them. This is the worse place to start a career, only come here if you have been working for 10+ years and need a place to retire.
