Pros

Telecommuting is generally encouraged but that depends on who's team you are on. Some managers will override the BT policy to allow telecommuting. However, as far as I know, that is only in the US. The rest of BT has no issues and actually encourages telecommuting. Calender vacation days are minimal but general vacation time is somewhat generous.

Cons

Organizational decisions are done with no real understanding of the work being done in US teams. Equipment is standardized throughout all of BT which means those in non-telecom groups often lack the correct computing equipment needed to do their jobs. Teams are moved from one group to the another group often. This can happen 3 or 4 times a year. Additionally, BT is continually off shoring US jobs to India.
