Pros

Lovely coworkers and great views of Central Park. That's really all I can say. Bbva was the worst place I've ever worked in in my 15 years experience in Banking.

Cons

Zero work life balance Terrible insurance Raises for top performers <3 pct 1980 computer systems No identity...is this a Spanish bank, a NY bank or a Texas bank? Zero job security on any level Incompetent human resource department that favours the Spanish nationals at the expense of more knowledgeable locals. They claim to be the 'best place to work'....as opposed to what? Sulfur mines? 12 hour days are the norm, there is no allowable disconnect on vacations or sick days. They use a slew of interns to replace FTE's and outsource jobs to Houston and Madrid despite the fact that those two locations do not offer the skill sets necessary to provide support for US processes. Their internal control is utterly laughable and staff hired for key bilingual positions is unable to speak, read or write either language on a business level.

Pros

Benefits-medical & dental- are good. Pay is average for this position. Decent amount of vacation as well as all the typical bank holidays. 401k- but no match by employer for the first year. Onsite cafeteria & fitness center Hours are somewhat flexible. Can get there anytime between 8:00 & 9:00 and it is fine.

Cons

Workspace-awful!! To save money, management has employees jammed in together in an "open concept" arrangement. Zero privacy. Not even cubicles- just people lined up at a table right next to each other.

Pros

A Few goo Men and Women still left. The ones that are still left; Kudos to you for fighting the good fight. Keep it up, another financial services firm will discover you and when they do don't hesitate--Pack up your belongings, tender your notice and LEAVE!

Cons

The retail bank is loosing money, the commercial bank is taking over (don't confuse brains for a bull market with) and the wealth management business is led by industry rookies! Retail is lead by think tankers who have never done any heavy lifting, commercial is run by a bunch of egotistical buffoons and wealth is the ugly duckling drying to find enough food to survive. Each region does things very differently so there is no consistency to any business vertical. Wealth has been sold a dream and promises from a Florida/New York group calling themselves "Ultra high net worth "Forbes" list coverage team. FYI, go to the corner news stand or better yet Google the list, now you have what they have---a list, Congratulations! In pursuit of revenue, this bank has lost its way in so many ways that it now finds itself blind and lost
