      Pros

      As long as your work gets done no one bothers you. Great network of vendors to work with, and plenty engineers for questions that are willing to help. Vacation is on par with surrounding plants.

      Cons

      Not much room for advancement. Pay is very slow to progress, low percent cost of living raise, and top pay is unrealistic. Depending on what unit you’re in dictates your work life balance. Some have very little overtime, whereas others are very demanding with constant forced overtime and months of blocked vacation dates. Every year something new to save money is taken away from us. Instrument techs are very unappreciated for the amount of extra work that is given to us and mostly goes unnoticed.

      Good benefits (affordable health insurance, nice employer retirement contributions)

      Cons

      Lacks leadership and clear communication Company has an unwillingness to listen that things are not going well Values quantitative measures (e.g. number of assays/products) over quality in performance evaluation Favoritism for certain employees Certain departments are extremely overworked Very difficult acquisition from Bayer from Trait Research Lots of inefficiencies and efforts to continually reinvent the wheel

      Pros

      You can do nothing and as long as you are part of the Ag inner circle you will be protected.

      Cons

      Talk about diversity and inclusion but it is not true. Old Caucasian men rule the roost. They put on a good show on LinkedIn but dig deep and you will find the truth.
