Pros

Great benefits, normal salary, lenient schedules.

Cons

Technical Support in particular is in shambles. They are turning it into a revolving door of under-qualified, under-paid, call center personnel. I have been here 1 year and change and have seen 2 MASSIVE layoffs, and other cherry picking of laying off others. NO ONE IS HAPPY with the current state of the support organization. From what I hear, other departments are not in as bad of shape, but global customer support is being run by people who have very unclear, and illogical decision making abilities. There is NO room for advancement... that would mean more work for middle management that holds it thumb on you (for 8+ years in some cases)... they would have to backfill your position.

Pros

Benefits are good, colleagues are mostly great

Cons

Technical support used to be a great job. Within the past year there have been many changes as they restructure the org, and they have clearly demonstrated that they could not care less about their support staff. The rest of the company gets to work remotely if they choose to, but support specifically has a three day in-office requirement? We are clearly viewed as second class citizens, and no feedback is ever taken into account. Upper management claims they are listening and open to feedback, but all they do is nod and smile and nothing is done. They are regimenting our daily schedules down to the minute with no flexibility and work/life balance is in the toilet. It is also making it impossible to help our customers the way they need and expect help.

Pros

- Autodesk seems to be on track to be on par with the top players in the market with regards to Compensation.

Cons

- A culture of irony. Autodesk has a series of HR policies and programs to make you feel you belonged, but they may lay you off without a single warning, even when you are a high-performer. - Autodesk lays off people while earning a record-high profit during this pandemic. If you are looking for a compassionate company, look elsewhere cause this is not one of them. Some companies lose money during this difficult time and still treat their employees better. - Leaders not knowing what to do with the organization. Series of re-org after re-org. Autodesk likes to promote leaders that are technically capable but have mediocre/poor people management skills. We became guinea pigs for their substandard business decisions.
