      Another major engineering conglomerate run by management for the benefit of management

      Pros

      Good reputation. Some staff are highly qualified and are indeed leaders in the field which provides opportunity (does not guarantee) to develop. Clients regard Arcadis as a good company. Will enhance your resume.

      Cons

      In reality just another major engineering conglomerate to whom billable hours is the whole bailywick and who bow to the vagaries of the stock market. Large publically owned engineering conglomerates like Arcadis have confused and compromised professionalism with commercial objectives when in fact both can be achieved.

      Pros

      Work schedule is flexible most of the time, upper management is very supportive of taking time for yourself as long as you're getting your work done, the work is generally not challenging, occasional field work is usually fun

      Cons

      Pay is unsatisfactory, opportunities for advancement are bureaucratic and regimented, little to no reward for doing a good job, work isn't challenging

      No Loyalty to Those Carrying the Load!

      Pros

      The pay and benefits are decent. Travel and experience with larger companies possible.

      Cons

      Management is incompetent, arrogant and do anything to get ahead. Relocation provided at ridiculous cost for people who are not worth a second look for lucrative client. New York office filled with pompous PMs who believe they know how to run a project. No attention paid to the lower ranking staff and training provided is minimal. Lost large amount of our staff recently due to the recession- abosutely no loyalty to the worker- those doing the grunt work so they management can continue the wine and dine mentality!
