Pros

Very good work/life balance. Individuals have room to breathe. Very smart engineers to work with. Comfortable work atmosphere. Good travel opportunities internationally in applications and marketing.

Cons

Very slow and a bit too chilled out at times. Career advancement can be slow. People from schools like MIT are given somewhat preferential treatment over others. You can also stuck under several layers of management. Internal communications within product lines can be deficient.

Pros

Due to the long respected history and success of the company, you see a lot of people that have worked at the company for many years. The company has targeted key markets offering highest revenue growth and margins relative to the industry. There is a general sense of pride to work for the company.

Cons

The company is very slow to adopt change, hindering process improvement, competitive edge, cross functional collaboration, and efficiencies. There is an extreme communication gap on a cross functional level. The company may encourage new thinking and process improvement in theory but does not have a vehicle nor culture allowing adoption nor consideration of change. There is a lack of sense of urgency addressing internal requests on a cross function level. Mid management is oftentimes reluctant to communicate company performance and position due to fear of retaliation from senior management. Internal IT solutions poorly address business requirements.

Pros

There are good engineers especially in product and test development. They really know how to bring products to market. Work time is very flexible and work at home is possible. Their benefits package is equal to or better than most equivalent companies.

Cons

If you are an offsite location, i.e., not in Norwood or Wilmington, MA, your career advancement is very limited. Most of the engineers I've seen work for 5, 6, 7 years without any promotion. If you are not connected or have some face time with senior management, you are anonymous, just another cog in the wheel. It also helps if you have some analog expertise. That's why the company is called Analog Devices.
