Pros

Not much micro management, and have much freedom to try new technical ideas as long as it can meet project schedule and goals. CAD tools and supports are somewhat good. Encouraged to submit your idea to patent, internal/external conference, and journals. Not much extra meetings, at least for no management people, and have much time on your technical work. Have much flexibility for working time frame to adjust your family matters.

Cons

The above pros are totally up to your direct boss. There is no strong and formal company policy so that you could be very lucky or unlucky depending on the situation. Not good salary compared to the competitors. Not enough tools, website, or meetings to propagate the information across the company. Sometimes you don't know who to ask or where to find important information.
