Pros

The benefit package provided by American Express is good. Adequate time off, 401K match, flexibility in work schedules for most positions. Most leaders are very conscious about work life balance and very understanding when circumstances arise that require you to miss a little work. I believe the executive leaders in the company (CEO, EVP's) are very bright and knowledgable about running the business.

Cons

Healthcare benefits are lacking and overly expensive for a company this size, but if you consider the overall benefit package the company is quite generous. As for leadership... More care needs to be taken in the selection and retention of leaders at the senior level (site leaders and functional VP's). Recent decisions have been made which may hinder short to mid-term growth.
