Monotonous Job

Pros

Decent pay and good leadership principles to follow when someone is serious about applying them !

Cons

No proper planning and L7s tends to dominate the entire execution. Sad part is Most L7s don't listen and they don't have expertise in the area they are working on. There are dummy processes called connections to gain feedback from subordinates and usually threatened to get good feedback. HRs are toothless. Job creates unwanted and unnecessary stress. Things can be handled much better.

Pros

Amazon has its strength in working backwards from customers when building products. This keeps Amazon's business solid and meeting high expectations of customers. It also has peculiar culture of emphasizing on written communication during meetings, which drives efficient communication and decision making.

Cons

Work life balance is a big challenge in Amazon. There are always more work than you can normally handle.
