Pros

- Focus on Innovation and Big idea; Company is working on a lot of interesting and innovative things - Data driven company so any recommendation need to be backed up by numbers - Customer Centric

Cons

- I did not believe Amazon was kind of a place that is described by new York times article until I experienced a bad pocket in amazon myself - The group I worked for had a lot of conflicts between leaders and team morale was quite low. The person I was reporting was horrible and gave me projects which are no where related to the reason I was hired in the job. - They ended up giving me a PIP six months in the job despite I had Outperform rating in the previous year. My manager forced me to signed PIP document and kept on finding faults in my work. She gave me 6 things to do to turn things around plan. I worked diligently on the plan but despite this she tried with all her might to find fault in the work I did. It was a clear indicator was she has clear interest in finding all faults in the work I was doing. This was the worst experience of my life to work with such person and getting hammered for everything I worked for. There were no checks on this manager and her manager blindly trusted what she portrayed. HR had no interest in listening to the argument.

Pros

Amazon is not for everyone, as we have a different way of doing things. The interview process is intense and extensive. It is specifically designed to find "Amazonians". With that said, if you are a fit the company is the best!!! Simply stated, if you have a good idea and you can make the case for it, you can do it. You will be encouraged to think of new and innovative solutions to your AOCs. You will be challenged in the same sense. If you want to make a difference and work on cutting edge programs/technology/innovations, you couldn't pick a better company.

Cons

If it's not for you, it's not for you. This is not really a con, but more a plus in my opinion. You can determine if you want to stay in 6-8 months.

Pros

Very fast paced activities, lots of work to do, good pay, good vacation,

Cons

not enough tools and processes to be able to deliver. all decisions taken in Seattle, so other areas see lower importance and have less visibility
