Pros
Ownership: Despite being a huge company, it still feels like a startup - so you often feel like you're working on a project that 10 people should be working on, with a due date that's 10x sooner than feels reasonable. If you're up for the challenge, that feeling breeds passion, excitement, ownership, and also career advancement. There is never a shortage of (actually pretty interesting) work to do, and never enough time to do it all, which actually seems to excite most Amazon employees (myself included).
Cons
Some of the pros are also the cons. Things can feel scrappy in a bad way - where even though we're a mature company, we have "immature" processes, workflows, and systems in some areas of the business.
