Pros

I'm impressed with how socially conscious Amazon is. The company does big things to help fight global warming, help with disaster relief and encourages its employees to do the same. I could go on and on with all the community service that individuals do. It's great that Amazon encourages this. From an LXD standpoint, we are making great strides. Also, Amazon encourages employees to speak out on what needs to be fixed. This is great.

Cons

The dept. I am in seemed a little old fashion at first from a learning and development standpoint. But, they listen and we are making great strides to make improvements to our standards and tools. Now, I'm happy at where we are at and where we are going with L&D. It's nice to see a company encourage its employees to speak out on what needs to be fixed and they listen.

Pros

- Organization is flat and everyone is a leader - Opinions are valued and I have opportunities to impact thousands - Chance to work with an amazing team - Most decisions can be made without going through a lengthy approval process - Modern design tools (like Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate , Microsoft Office, etc. available - Flexibility and ability to work from home most days (even after Covid) - Lots of growth opportunities - Great pay - Inclusivity is a top goal - Opportunities to volunteer within the community (outside of Amazon)

Cons

- Working as cross-functional teams means lots of meetings! - Amazon is huge, with lots of small organizations living within it, meaning it can be difficult to find information or connect with people outside of your team - Never enough time in the day to get everything you need to get done, done
