Constantly in transition, but to where?

Pros

You often get to work with people from around the world, and people are generally pretty cosmopolitan as they travel a lot (or used to).

Cons

Older workforce counting days to retirement; lots of legacy jobs with an uncertain future. Every year the company seems to cut and retract in some areas and grow in completely different areas. So if you're in the legacy business it isn't much fun.

Pros

Amadeus is a young company that has enjoyed very sound and successful growth in its only 20 years of history. That has meant exhilarating job opportunities for young professionals, a true multinational and multi cultural background and an enriching international environment.

Cons

VERY political because of its strong ties with the legacy carriers of France, Spain and Germany. Wise commercially, needs to change its software development culture and create a real HR policy.

Pros

Very good internship opportunities, with good compensation and freedom to develop ideas. Almost 200 internees are welcomed every year, most being employed full time after this first experience. However, salaries are good only if you come from a top university. Life in French Riviera is outstanding: beach during summer, skiing in winter. Many activities, sun 300 days per year, Cannes festival, Italy, Monaco, medieval villages, priceless cultural richness.

Cons

Outrageous salary differences depending on education. Promotions depend mostly on education, regardless of hard work and dedication (annual performance review for bonuses only, employees cannot give feedback on their management), with very few topdowns (once a year) and no horizontal communication (political wars between teams and divisions). Human resources completly absent after contract signature, thus no career development of employees. And forget about industry standards in development, everything must be inhouse technology.
