Pros

They definitely do a lot to make sure employees are enjoying themselves. You work with great people and they have a great culture (in my opinion). There's also a great work-life balance here. You have unlimited vacation and there's no stigma to using it. Lots of opportunities to travel (if you want), especially to Europe since the HQ is Amsterdam. Good benefits in general, free catered lunch every day, stocked kitchen full of snacks. Very flat management structure is nice because none of the leadership is too far out of reach. They do a great job of being very approachable.

Cons

Having personally started after the IPO, you won't get stock options anymore and as a result, the overall compensation is likely a bit lower than many other tech companies in the area. However, the base pay is still competitive and overall worthwhile to work at the company. Basically, if you're only looking for a job to make the most money, look elsewhere. Only other con is that, due to the flat management structure, there's a lot of uncertainty about growth potential. That's not to say that it can't be done, but you won't necessarily see a clear progression in your career. You very much have to make your path on your own.

Amazing company culture at a global scale

Pros

Adyen means it when they say they are truly a global company. The company puts in effort to make sure that we are interacting with colleagues from each department in every single one of our offices around the world. We get to travel to our Amsterdam headquarters from the US, to be a part of the hustle in our largest office. We're encouraged to work with employees and merchants from other parts of the country, and we're constantly given opportunities for professional growth through workshops and training sessions. It is so refreshing to work at a company that follows through with what they say during the hiring process! It's a plus that Adyen is a really fun place to work and has tons of perks. Management works hard to make sure employees understand that they are in charge of their own career. We are given the tools to work hard and move up in the company, or into other departments if that's what we'd prefer. Feedback is super important at Adyen, and people are comfortable sharing success stories to help others grow.

Cons

This is the type of company that allows you to grow and seek new opportunities easily, but you have to put in the effort. People who are not interested in flat organizational structure may not enjoy the independence Adyen offers!

Pros

We are doing great things in the payment space, with great people. This is a truly global company with nearly 20 offices around the world. There is so much opportunity within the organization to expand your role and knowledge base.

Cons

The payment industry is constantly changing and Adyen keeps up. You need to move fast in order to stay current here.
