Pros

Being a big and traditional ompany job stability is strong. There seems to be opportunities for groth since average age is high an personnel is retiring. Companwide a rejuvenation process is ongoing with shitf also in technology and working paradigms, You get flexible work and benefits such as diets and life insurance.

Cons

Personnel is old, low skilled and mindset is sometimes difficult to adapt to if you come from the consultancy world. Management expects you to work long hours and sometimes this is not refelected in your pay scale.

Pros

Well... If you consider it a positive thing, a completely laid back company moto (great if you have kids and don't like or want to work hard). No one will fire you for being incompetent. So that's good.

Cons

I was what they call a "insurance technician" here in Spain and I have always worked in blue chip companies in several countries and this one was a surprise. You have access to internal jobs but when you talk your boss about them they look at you with a look that says "you're an effing nobody, what the effing are you thinking? You will never get a promotion while I'm here". To be honest in Spain there is a glass ceiling everywhere you go but in Axa is the worst (and I have an MBA and speak 4 languages and I was tied by my boss). I was able to whithstand two years there just enough to get the hell out of there. I did, I am in Zurich reinsurance in Austria now and I am loving it.
