Pros

Independence within work projects, flexible work schedule, real nice people, East side location (if that is convenient for your home location)

Cons

Not top of the line salaries preclude from getting (& retaining) the best talent, merger with AT&T showing early signs of benefit cuts already. Cost cutting yes, we all need to do our share. But some of those cuts affect the morale and the work place environment which affects level of service.

Pros

The people - a diverse group always willing to help and do what's right for the customer. Secondly, there are a lot of new intiatives/products which make it an exciting place to be right now.

Cons

Few opportunities for advancement, they don't seem to know what to do with key talent. Benefits are decent, but salaries seem to be on the lower end of the scale of other companies. Often middle management has been around for a while (since Southwestern Bell days) and hasn't caught up to the strategy of an international company.

Pros

Some flexibility from management on location. Diverse workforce. Some managers are helpful, good mentors, interested in coaching their subordinates through the difficulties of working for AT&T. Others are in it for themselves and don't care WHAT happens as long as they are placating the managers above them.

Cons

Employees are worked to death. Off-shore contractors have manipulated management to the point of paralysis. One of my outstanding employees did the work of two persons in a level above her for two years and has yet to receive the title OR the pay of the previous worker. At one point I had more FTE working directly for me than any other manager and yet that wasn't recognized.
