ASDA reviews

Lack of colleagues on day and night shifts, Too much stock that we don't need coming in from Asda depots despite stock issue and P.I. process, Too much work load for colleagues. Store itself is falling to bits and not fit for purpose, Store is too small for the growth of Home Shopping which has a knock effect to the rest of the store plus store was never built to take the stock levels and money it takes every week. Health and safety issues in store and tight budget to get things fixed, Closed staff canteen to save money. Relying on the few colleagues to do overtime to keep the store running and the shelves stocked, Customers becoming aggressive and more ignorant due to products not on shelves because of colleague shortages, There needs to be some basic rules in supermarkets to protect staff and stock in shops i.e. not eating as you walk around, Dumping fresh food, Shop lifting etc. I know they pay the wages but some people really do take the mick. More pressure on colleagues. If you don't cover holidays you are left with even more to do on your return from your holiday or day off. No colleagues to cover you as there is no one ( or nobody wants to work in frozen ) Not sure if some managers are up to being mangers, Some can't manage there way out of a wet paper bag. Some store management seem distant and aloof. So many fellow full time colleagues have left my store, People leave but are not replaced or replaced with part time inexperienced students. Also Asda doesn't like full time colleagues anymore . . . they cost too much ! Better pay structure, Asda as a store has so many diverse departments. Some departments have it easy while some departments have it hard in relation to the work they do with no difference in hourly rate and pay. I know retail is extremely tough at the moment with the supermarket price wars, But the management in Leeds live on another planet and seem intent on destroying Asda. The management restructure of 2014 made the better managers redundant and replaced them with less paid inexperienced section leaders and was supposed to put more colleagues back on the shop floor which has simply not happened. Some of the section leaders have stepped down in there roles in my store because of work pressures. There is simply to much work to do and not enough people. Maybe there is some kind of master plan to all the extreme cut backs Asda are making. All I have seen is customers shopping elsewhere because of empty shelves as a result of colleague cut backs which equals less money being taken at the checkout as products that customers want to buy are not stocked. So much fresh store waste being thrown away, Again being created by too much stock coming in and not enough colleagues to put the stock on the shelves . . . Its a real shame seeing good food being thrown away because of being out of date. I will never forget Christmas 2014 by the amount of waste being thrown away some of which never even made it onto the shop floor, Just crazy:-( I think Asda now is all about % and figures. As long as they balance the store books waste, wages overtime, consumables etc to what the store takes in sales every week nobody really care's:-( All smoke and mirrors and robbing Peter to pay Paul:-( and not about the customer. Met some great colleagues which I will miss, But have now left Asda and looking forward to the future away from retail.

Having to deal with any difficult customers or when the shop gets busy as you have to try and quicken how you work but still provide excellent customer satisfaction.
