Pros

Good insurance and pay but not worth it

Cons

There is something crazy going on within the company. In the last month or 2 they have been firing a lot of Aldi store managers... Like seriously one after another. There was nothing very substantial about what they did to be terminated.. I feel they are pushing hard and setting them up on purpose. Maybe they are wanting to bring in a new batch of faces to run the store at much cheaper wages.. But the amount of devotion and effort it takes to keep a store afloat .. Making less will surely backfire on Aldi. There is some type of obvious strategy at hand I tell you. If you are in a situation right now as a GM where you are giving all you got and they are threatening you START DOCUMENTING EVERYTHING... EVERY TIME THEY VISIT. TRY TO EVEN RECORD THEM TALKING TO YOU. Write your hours down and just say yes sir or yes mam because they are looking for one little crack they toss you for. It's dirty... And it makes me sick they would treat hard working and loyal employees this way!

Pros

If you want a job where you are always busy this is for you! Also a plus if you find working out fun; every shift is a work out. Great pay. Great Benefits.

Cons

No chance to climb the corporate ladder, they hire outside the company for higher paying jobs (MIT, DM etc.) No consistency with hours, or pay. As a shift manager (assistant manager) you will be paid only when you show up on the schedule as a manager- often time expecting to do manager job while getting paid significantly less. Often safety is an issue with large sums of cash on hand and minimal staff in the store, sometimes only you if someone is on break. You will be pushed to your limits mentally and physically and you will develop back problems if continued in this work place- extreme lifting and refusal to provide back braces or the ability to wear them. Extreme biased in hiring. Any one older than 30 will not be hired.

Dangerously luring

Pros

Responsibilities given very early, careful and detailed training with mentors, large variety of tasks.

Cons

No specific training on programs, abilities and other qualifications needed everywhere in the world outside the company. Once you are not the one out of ten to twenty candidates to get promoted after 5 years of service, your career will be finished.
