Pros

flexibility, PTO, co-workers, diversity (except need more), corporate citizenship (volunteer time off and support on charities)

Cons

no stability, management has no insight into what is actually happening in the field. I was part of a customer/broker facing group that was totally eliminated. Another higher level co-worker told me that the decision was made by someone that had no idea the group was externally facing. And sometimes the only place a customer or broker could go to get help. The decision was apparently seen as a mistake.....I feel for my clients. Benefits were OK - but the pay was not competitive. Little to no raises and definitely no promotions. Constant change and constant (and real) threat of losing your job - and not because of performance.

Deep Bench

Pros

AIG's underwriting specialists are second to none. Their bench is deep, so if someone branches out to a different division, there are capable people ready to step in and gets things done.

Cons

Due to our government bailout, most employees have not received a raise in eight years. Funny how the shareholders are still getting dividends. I don't think they contributed to our success.

Pros

31 days of vacation would be a pro. The position isn’t actually difficult. If you wanted to keep your job and had to move you could potentially work remotely.

Cons

Huge disconnect in management. My manager won’t take my calls most of the time. Passive aggressive emails is how they mainly communicate.
