Pros

High Pay, but lost my job. The influx of tarp money has changed the way we do business,

Cons

Tarp money, no big bonus anymore. The government is now a partner, in fact owns 80 % of us. Having big government breathing down our backs makes it difficult to make informed decisions.

Pros

I think that they are flexible in terms of allowing individuals to balance their family lives and work. They are very far with their compensation and various other benefits. They are the biggest insurance company in the world - this means that as an employee you get great exposure to the insurance industry and your knowledge of the insurance business expands because of the vast business lines you're exposed to.

Cons

The only downside is that with the recent reports on AIG's performance - it's quite embarrasing because the first thing people remember is that we've made the largest loss in a quater (in the word's history)!

Pros

You can gain a ton of experience in a very short time. There are many opportunities for advancement, even for fairly young employees without much experience or straight out of college. The training and experience you get at AIG is sought by all of AIG's competitors in the insurance industry.

Cons

The negative perception of AIG in the press these days. This has led to general depression at work and realization that we are no longer the biggest and best insurance company in the world. There is a ton of personnel turnover. It's very hard to see so many employees leave to go to the competiion.
