Pros

A great place to learn about business process, sound sales process and practice and business acumen... A great stepping stone for career advancement. A very stable company that has been doing well for years.

Cons

A big company, slow at making decisions, compensation is not much relative to where you live and work. For example, a sales rep can make about the same amount of income working anywhere. But San Francisco Bay Area's cost of living is about 2-3 times higher than many other places. Also, it is a very conservative company with many red tapes. It takes ASS KISSING to get promoted.

Pros

Company is focused on employee training, work life balance, great bonus program for national accounts services and up, etc. In the National accounts dept. bonuses are given out quarterly and varies based on regional office + company performance. They also have excellent training programs for several different courses that are related to the business offered at their on-site campus. If you perform well, it is easier for you to ask to move to a different business group or area of the company. They have excellent benefits, including tuition reimbursement with a cap obviously for business related study. You can also apply for a flex schedule, allowing you to work 4 long days with the option to have Friday, Monday or a day off in the middle of the week.

Cons

Their is a strong push to favor generational employees for promotions rather than outside employees who have superior education and experience. Many employees who work at the Elk Grove location got the jobs because their fathers, mothers, etc were drivers, quality employees, etc. Many got their jobs right out of high school so they do not have college degrees. Yet, some of these employees act like they own the company and are more important than those who took the time to go to college. Many end in supervisor roles even though they aren't always well equipped for them - I guess they are rewarded for having stayed with the company for 15+ years. I think race plays a role in the pace at which you can grow...minorities definitely move at a slower pace, no matter how talented they are. It is also very cliquey i.e. long-timers vs. newbies.
