Pros

ADP provided very detailed training as I entered the organization. The people were great to work with. I had one fromal and several informal mentors throughout my career with ADP. I had an opportunity to work with many different clients in a variety of industries. ADP provided many opportunities for training and had a greta tutition reimbursement program. There were many career paths to choose from within ADP's client services organization.

Cons

My last position with ADP required approximately 80% travel which made it difficult to maintain a balance between work and family. I feel that ADP pays below market for implementation consultants.

Pros

You can boost your salary fairly quickly within the first few years if you pass the knowledge checks

Cons

Very traditional company. Promotions are based more on tenure than merit. Must be a CSR for two years before you can do anything else. They bring in a lot of managers from external employers. Training of employees in software they're supposed to be supporting can be sporadic in some instances.

Pros

Benefits (for "associates", or full time employees), competitive salaries, flexibility. They have an actual pension plan, which is unheard of these days outside of the large, dinosaur corporations. If you're going to spend a full career in one company, this is a good place to go.

Cons

Unstable in Dealer Services right now with the reliance upon the auto industry, incredibly bureaucratic. The speed in which ADP Dealer Services moves is very, very slow, and most of that problem seems to be multiple layers of approval. For example, for their software processes, they haven't even heard Agile, and still very much rely upon an old style waterfall software development, outside of some small teams (of which one I worked on).
