Pros

Great co workers. Local level of management tried hard to be supportive and fair, as long as you performed. Fair benefits. Best job I ever had.

Cons

Company was once proud of great service it provided to clients when I started. Client retention was a high priority. Satisfaction surveys meant everything. Management above local level are clueless. As time went on only numbers mattered. All the recently promoted regional managers and directors are good at are never ending meetings and dumping more work load onto an already overburdened staff. Basically too many chiefs and nowhere near enough indians. Raises in the last 3 years were non existent. Lay-off's targeted local level managers and senior level service personnel. Customers now wait twice as long or worse for a call back. Most feel that ADP is nothing more than a huge bureacracy that they are unfortuneately stuck with.

Like a government job

Pros

Having a job in Dealer Services is kind of like working for the government. Except for 2009, it has been pretty tough for people to lose a job (forced or via attrition). The benefits are that employees tend to stay with ADP for a long time and a sense of family grows. Expectations are relatively low, so one doesn't need to go too far to become a high-performer.

Cons

ADP Dealer Services is very much tenure-oriented, as opposed to merit-oriented. It becomes increasingly difficult to advance because people become entrenched in their little kingdoms. Compensation is low, relative to the market, especially for technical employees.

Pros

It was a good place to start a sales career. It gives you knowledge of the various stages of a sale. Fun environment.

Cons

Communication lines between the different business segments within ADP were not good along with servicing customer problems. It is an cut throat environment and not for everyone.
