Pros

Top notch training and support, the local managers genuinely care about your success and well-being.

Cons

Kind of hard to summarize, but I will do my best. ADP provides fantastic training and support via tools/tech and guidance from managers and peers. However, 2 of the tools/benefits provided (Ariba, Sendoso) had cost Dosens of employees to be abrupty terminated without clear reason due to lack of guardrails and guidance. I left voluntarily months before the mass layoff began, but heard about it from several friends/coworkers sometime later. When you start training at ADP, you are guided through your associate portal to find various tools and benefits, including Sendoso and Ariba. With Sendoso, you are able to virtually send giftcards to prospective clients as a way to entice them into meeting with you. Local management encouraged this, and even had incentives for reps who could send the most Sendosos in a week. Recently, employees were fired for using this "too often" without any prior warning. With Ariba, ADP employees are able to order various items for their desk/home office to help with their day-to-day work productivity. Think wireless keyboards, mouses, back support, fatigue mats etc. Your annual allowance is shown when you log in, and increases with tenure/annual quota. Our managers thought it was really cool, and touted it as one of the many reasons why ADP cares about their employees well-being. I was there for about 3 years and heard of no issues, no warnings, nothing but praise. I left my job to pursue another career with higher pay, and thought nothing of it. About 4 months later, I find out about 3 dosen employees where abruptly fired all in the same week, no warnings. Corporate litterally just shows up and starts culling the workforce all in a matter of days, for purchases made on Ariba almost a year prior. I knew several of these employees, and can personally vouch for their integrity. One of the employees was a single mother, who Loved ADP. She said ADP is the best career you can get in Tucson and tried vary hard to convince me to stay. When she got the abrupt call to inform her of her termination she started crying, begging them for forgiveness and told HR she had no idea she wasn't allowed to use Ariba (even though management told all of us its ok) & would be happy to return the WFH/office items ordered. HR's response? "Your Acting like a child, get over it"... Also suspicious, HR told her she was Not allowed to record the meeting from the start. The HR lady came down from Tempe, acted like she was the grand master boss of ADP, and seemed to enjoy facilitating this mass layoff. The employees manager even got emotional and tried defending the rep, only to be told to stay quiet because it doesnt concern him. The most suspicious aspect of this layoff, was that they seemed to only target tenured employees who happened to have a higher pay-grade, while simply providing stern warnings to any newbies who happened to have the lower, starting base pay. ADP has several lawsuits/litigations against them. As mentioned earlier I had nothing but good experiences working at ADP, and they provided a level of training I most likely would not have earned elsewhere. I just consider myself lucky to have left in time!

Pros

Fun environment, lots of contests and games and festivities. They encourage taking walks during the day for fresh air. And regularly provide snacks.

Cons

The market for payroll is currently HARD AF. ADP is one of the more expensive providers and with all these self-service options popping up its becoming increasingly harder to sell.

Stable company but disappointing raises and RTO policies

Pros

Generally too big to fail as a company. They will largely weather economic uncertainties with little fall-out, depending on the Business Unit you’re in.

Cons

RTO. Terrible policies driven with zero actual reason. Raises are small and do not keep up with inflation often times, yet they say it is your “merit”. Anything above the inflation rate (if anything) is your actual merit and it will likely be fractions of a percent.
