Pros

The firm is very stable, the payroll business essentially underwrites everything else. So job security in most areas is very solid. They encourage people to work virtually, and offer flexibility.

Cons

Often the virtual work environment can be very isolating. The staff who are based in an office obtain a lot more facetime with management, and this can be very beneficial to them, at the expense of virtual staff.

Pros

Decent pay, good opportunities to increase pay by gaining certifications, good job stability, company deals very fairly with layoffs and is highly ethical.

Cons

Company has become increasingly bureaucratic and focused exclusively on the bottom line. Their internal consulting group has completely redesigned processes, procedures and systems in ways that went against customer preferences as well as internal employee feedback. Decisions are made in a top down fashion totally divorced from what is needed at the front lines- in fact some decisions are actually a hindrance, but any resulting difficulties are blamed on the employees, not the policies. Rising up the corporate ladder means agreeing (or pretending to agree) with everything that comes down the pike and trying to spin it positively, no matter how detrimental it might actually be...ADP is becoming an organization of "Yes-People."

Pros

Working from home and some free training; when times were good so was the training opportunity; when times were bad there was only belt tightening;

Cons

Poor communication from management; silos; overworked and under staffed; outsourcing to India; there isn't one methodology used by all groups and that makes it difficult on projects where there are multiple products involved; there needs to be more involvement between sales and implementation.
