Build out the page in XHTML and CSS to match the design comp. It should be built to accurately represent the design comp as much as possible. For the sake of time, you can target just one or two of the latest web browsers. Safari 4 & Firefox 3 is preferred, but if coded correctly, it should look decent in most browsers and versions. Just let us know which browser(s) you developed and tested for and what techniques you used to accomplish the build where you think it is important to note them. 1. Use standards-based XHTML and web development best practices. 2. Use CSS for layout and positioning. 3. Include hover states for text links and buttons. Examples for some elements are shown in the comp. Any other button or image hover states I'll leave up to you. 4. Decision on whether to use HTML text or images for textual elements should be clear in the comp. Use image/text replacement techniques if you're familiar with them. 5. Include the JavaScript for the hero auto slider and for the tabs in the featured products area. You can use a JavaScript library such as Prototype, jQuery, MooTools, etc. 6. You are welcome to include any additional CSS techniques or JavaScript behaviors you feel relevant to the design of the page. Feel free to show off.
