Did not expect them to ask technical questions, but was able to answer them. 1. How do you value a company? Walk me through your steps. 2. Does a utility firm or a biotech firm have a higher PE? 3. How do you calculate WACC? 4. How would you recommend a firm to optimize its WACC? 5. FCFF vs FCFE 6. Others are all behavioral. Know your DCF and basic valuation methods. Be personable.

Have you ever done something which is different with other peoples' expectations on you?
Vlookup. not an important part of MBA (IT subject) course.
How do you intebd to add value to the department ?
It was all just "getting to know you" type questions. I think the most "challenging" question was, "what's your favorite code section?" All very straightforward.
In the valuations group, I never received any difficult technical questions, but you should be prepared to answer the following: -Walking through the impact on each of the three financial statements when, for example, increasing depreciation -Discuss the three valuation approaches: DCF (Income Approach); Guideline Public Companies or Market Multiples (Market); and Guideline Transactions or Precedent Transactions (Market); may also bring up the Cost Approach. -Could be asked something like "How would you value customer relationships" related to a purchase price allocation - understand that income related to an asset being discounted is a pretty safe answer for that kind of question.
Pretty straight forward interview .
