The first question given to me was the most difficult. It was a logic puzzle, and asked which of four statements about the puzzle was true. I could have sketched a logic puzzle grid, but I decided the simplest way was to test if each of the four statements could be disproved.

I don't recall being asked any difficult or unexpected questions. Having done many interviews I answered as honestly and correctly as possible, even if I didn't have answers at the time. I indicated that I am very resourceful and tenacious, and find solutions to problems presented.
Hard to say, since none of the questions were too difficult.
C, UNIX Shell (grep, find, regular expressions etc) and SMTP related questions. Basically went through the job description advertised and asked relevant questions.
