I was asked to name the story I would like to cover. As I learned about the job opening from the colleague, that is the boss/bureau chief who was among the people who interviewed me, I presumed (never presume!!!! that I learned) that they were hiring a political writer. Turns out I am quite useless in calculus without a calculator, and I found all the maths problems overwhelming, especially since multiplication and division are my weak sides. So the bureau chief comes at one point, I was just half way through, and he takes the papers from me, saying I have had enough time. The following interview went well, but I messed up the test bit, so I got no offer.
How do you handle it if everyone's too busy to help you?
Expected ctc.. hr neither has sense nor knowledge
We talked about my background and the fit into higher education. We talked about Rutgers' reputation. i was asked to summarize my background.
