Hands on skill set and passion
I was asked about previous experience in copywriting, how I work in a team, what interested me in the company, and more relevant interview questions.
As you think about experiences to date, what channels from a creative perspective are you most comfortable?
Describe your background. What is your experience with online advertising? What budgets are you used to working with?
What do you know about whitelisting content?
“This is the way we do our creative as a funnel for conversions. What do you like? What don’t you like? How would you change it to optimize better performance.”
Both recruiter and hiring manager were very interested in past company structures of creative departments, the culture, management skills etc. VS really digging into creative background or work within the portfolio. It appeared to me that the opportunity I was interviewing for was a ruse to get free work out of creative candidates and inside knowledge of how to start and run their own in-house creative department. When I asked how soon they were looking to bring someone on I got the run around of "were taking our time to find the perfect candidate." It didn't appear they were really interested in actually hiring, at least not in a hurry. Again it felt off to me and all a ruse for their own personal gain. It also felt like a waste of time and what could have been a dragged out process. Questions: - How was your past company structured? - What was the culture like at said company? - Tell me more about the processes, successes and failures.
very basic questions about previous experiences and personal preferences.
