I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Walmart (Belleville, IL) in Jan 2021
Interview
The interview was very impersonal and completed over the internet. When I logged on, there were other candidates on the call as well. I felt that I should have been made aware of this before joining the call.
The interview process at Walmart is designed to be friendly and straightforward. You’ll start with an application, then likely get a phone screening where they’ll ask about your availability, interest in retail, and experience working with customers.
If you move to the next step, there’s an in-person or virtual interview with a hiring manager. They ask questions about teamwork, handling difficult customers, and problem-solving, often with real-life scenarios to see how you’d react. Be prepared to share examples of when you’ve helped others, shown flexibility, and stayed positive under pressure. They really value reliability, a customer-first attitude, and willingness to learn and grow within the company.
After the interview, they may review your background or check references. If they make an offer, they’ll walk you through onboarding and training so you’re set up for success. The whole process is designed to see if you’re a good fit for Walmart’s fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Easy and straightforward. Nothing too crazy everything is simple wording. Nice lady and she’s funny. She made the process easy and simple no complaints. I also like how she did an in person interview so it was easy and simple
