I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart (Apex, NC) in Aug 2009
Interview
This was an interview for a new store. I applied online through walmart career page and interviewed at a hiring center in a local mall. The questions were all situational. Describe a time that you did x, why, and what was the outcome. The interviewer was friendly and didn't really like having to ask these kind of questions. Usually there would have been a second round of interviews, when she printed out the questions she stated that all the questions were basically the same as the ones she already asked. This is the second time I have interviewed for a new store and I have the impression as long as you attempt to answer the questions you will be hired. They will be calling my references and then I should be called for a job offer and drug test. Walmart does actually call your references so make sure they are up-to-date.

Question 1
Describe a situation where you were part of a team. What were some of the challenges and how did you handle them?
We don't always agree with rules. Describe a time where you didn't agree with a rule. Why did you follow the rule even though you didn't agree with it?
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Walmart in Mar 2007
Interview
The interview had several sheets with six questions each. The questions were all had two to three parts to them. You really had to think on your toes to make it through. There were a total of three interviews with different levels of management all the way up to the store manager. The questions were very generic.

Question 1
When has there been a time you did not like a rule, did you follow it, and why are rules important?
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Walmart in Oct 2007
Interview
My first interview was with the department manager of the department I was interviewing for. She took notes and gave scores on the answers I provided. After her interview, she entered the information into a computer to see if I passed and went on to round 2. Round 2 was an interview with an Assistant Manager. He did the same thing by taking notes and writing down scores. I was told I would have to come back the next day for a third interview with a Co-Manager. When I came back the next day the Co-Manager started going over the hiring paperwork and there was no third interview.

Question 1
A lot of the questions were "what did you do in this situation" type questions. Like working in teams, how you got along with other employees, what did you do when you had problems with a co-worker, etc.
