My experience with the hiring process at this company began with an unexpected call from Human Resources. They hadnt sent a prior message to schedule the call, and call me unexpected in a morning and starting a call interview. The 40-minute interview that followed, they delved into my CV, work experiences, and the tools I've used. Additionally, they casually mentioned that I would likely be placed in their Porto office, considering my location in Porto. Following this initial interview, there were several scheduling changes for the technical interview, which created some confusion and frustration. When I finally had the opportunity for the technical interview, it extended for a whole hour, during which both parties exchanged many questions and clarifications. However, the pivotal moment came at the end of the interview when, almost unexpectedly, they inquired, "Are you able to work in Lisbon?" At that moment, I realized that my location, which I had clearly stated earlier, had been overlooked. They then informed me that living in Lisbon was a prerequisite for the role. This was a significant oversight and, in my view, a sign of disrespect. It felt as though HR had not thoroughly reviewed my application, given that I had already spent 40 minutes in an initial call and another hour in a technical interview. The realization that I would not be considered for the role purely due to my location in Porto left me disheartened. My experience with the HR department was disheartening. It seemed as though they had only skimmed through my CV without paying attention to important details. The interview scheduling process was poorly executed, causing confusion and frustration. Ultimately, the lack of attention to location details led to a disappointing and disrespectful conclusion to the process.
