I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uber in Jul 2022
Interview
Phone screen with recruiter and initial video interview with team lead. Phone screen went very well, team lead just kept asking about current role tasks, nothing else. Was honestly strange, no behavioral or strategy at all.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uber
Interview
The initial phone screen interview went well. Progressed onto their famous jam session but never heard back. Given how much time a candidate invests in jam session preparation, I was a bit disappointed that nobody from recruiting followed up. Understand that there are many candidates to manage but definitely discourages me from applying in the future.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Uber (Bengaluru) in Apr 2023
Interview
I had applied to Uber through a referral. I applied on the link provided. But the next day I decided to check the status of the application. I found the application to be closed. So I asked the referee to find out what had happened, he checked and found out the the recruiter had mentioned that “Candidate withdrew the application”, I had never withdrawn the application. When pressed up on the recruiter said the resume may not have been shortlisted and the hiring manager would have tagged it incorrectly. I wanted to put this out so that people know such experiences happen that even big companies like Uber. They will want absolute perfection from their interviewees but the standards they hold themselves to pretty low. Please be careful before you apply and don’t expect a reasonable reason for a ding from them.
