I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at UL Solutions (Los Angeles, CA) in Dec 2018
Interview
A day after I applied, I received an email from a Talent Coordinator to schedule a phone screen for the following day. The phone screen took less than 10 minutes, and we scheduled a phone interview with the hiring manager for the following week. That phone interview took about an hour, and was an informal discussion. He was concerned that I didn’t have any sort of background in quality control, but assured him I could easily complete a certification. He was impressed with my sales background and said he would follow up with me the following week since they need someone urgently. I sent a thank you email to the two TC’s I had dealt with, and got a reply saying they would keep my information on file, but not an actual rejection. Very unusual since the tone implied I spoke with the manager and got denied, which I hadn’t.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at UL Solutions (Leiden) in Sep 2018
Interview
I had been contacted by a Recruitment Agency via Linkedin. They said there is a role at UL Transaction Security at Leiden whether I interested. After my positive response the formal interview process began. All interviews were via phone call.
There were three major interviews between me and the company. Before and after for each one, the recruitment company called me and gave info about interview and took feedback.
The first interview was with the mid level director. He was very kind and a relaxing person. We talked about why they had needed this role, what I did in my past, how can I contribute to the company. And we talked about the interview process.
The second interview was with the HR representative. They informed me about my relocation, gave some info about company's attitude to the personnel.
The third interview was technical. I had been interview with the 2 supervisor level analysts. They were at two different timezones. So it was hard to establish the meeting for the recruitment company. But they handled. The interviewers reviewed my CV very deeply (line by line) and asked very detailed questions about what I wrote there and how i contribute. They had some questions about the role's responsibility and what I can do, what I have to do if they hire me.
There would be a face to face interview at the company's location if the technical interview was gone well.
Company's HR representative informed me by a call after a few weeks about the process. She said the interview process didn't go well because i didn't have hands-on experience and it may be difficult for me to adapt. Moreover, due to I'm not a junior, they may not provide me the salary satisfaction for my premium skills.
