I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Typeform in Jul 2021
Interview
Simple and straightforward. One call with the recruiter, three interview steps and a final round with the CTO of the company.
The three steps were very focused in a particular set of skills:
- step 1: system design + architecture
- step 2: managerial skills and experience
- step 3: cultural fit with the company
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Solve the system design problem, analyse pros and cons of each solution.
Expected situational based management questions.
Cultural fit questions.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Typeform (Berlín) in Mar 2022
Interview
Round 1: Call with the recruiter, they shared Typeform values, a bit about the product, what they expect from me, a brief about the next rounds, and answered any questions I had on my end.
Round 2: System Design: I had this round with 2 other EMs where I was asked about designing a particular problem and talking about scalability, reliability, and the design decisions I took to solve the problem.
Round 3: People Management: More of a scenario-based interview focussing on:
- Execution & Delivery
- Collaboration & Teamwork
- Knowledge Sharing
- Ethics & Values
Round 4: Behavioural Interview: questions will revolve around Leadership, World-Class Engineering, and Attitude as well as your motivation to join Typeform. I'd recommend using the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result) for this.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Typeform in Feb 2022
Interview
At first I had a few conversations with an external recruiter that is (or at least was) working directly with Typeform.
The official interview process was divided in three parts:
1. System Design Interview
2. People Management Interview
3. Behavioural Interview
All of these meetings lasted about an hour. The only one somewhat technical was the first one (System Design).
In all of them the interviewers made me feel really comfortable. It was a good experience.
