I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Tripadvisor (Lisboa, Lisboa) in Oct 2022
Interview
The best recruiting process I had so far, I loved it - The process takes some time, for a Senior Software Engineer (SE III) you can expect around like 6 or 7 rounds. I had 7 rounds in this order: - 30min screening call with the recruiter which explains all the process, role and salary expectations - 30min call with the eng manager for the team/project you are applying - 4 hours of technical interviews - 4 rounds of 1h each. these are pair programming exercises focused on data structures and algorithms. each round is usually with one person only which makes you feel much confortable. the problems are easy/medium level, I found them very easy. it's ok if you are not able to finish it or get to the optimal solution. the goal here is to evaluate the programming skills and how you tackle the problem. so make sure you engage with the interviewer as a team mate and think out loud, make questions, he will assist you and give some hints in case you get blocked. You may get one of the interviews to be more kind of a System Design challenge, but in my case it was still very focused on the code and programming fundamentals (like concurrency, asynchronous processing, latency, throughput, data streaming) so it doesn't really matter the tech stack you have experience with, as this is focused on the fundamentals and not actual tech stack implementations. - 30min to 1h final interview to discuss the position, not sure if this is always like that, maybe depends on the position itself and the final assessment of the candidate. The fact that it has 4 rounds of technical interviews, may seem demanding but it's actually a good thing for both sides. First I really enjoyed the exercises and you feel you are being evaluated in a very objective way. Second, it allows the candidate to meet many different people from the company, from different projects and teams, so when you finish the process you have a very good idea what kind of people and culture you will find if you join the company. And I must say I got a very good impression of their culture and people. Finally, I felt very welcomed, and felt they were very committed to the process. They were fast to schedule new interviews and made sure to clarify everything about the position in a very short time. For that reason it was difficult for me to decline the offer, but I had to choose for another one that I liked more because of the industry.

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tripadvisor in Jun 2022
Interview
The first step was a quick call with HR. The next step was a video call with the hiring manager. The chat with the hiring manager consisted of intros, walk-though of resume/experience, some technical discussion, and a live coding question.
HR did not mention there was a coding question on the second round, but did mention there would be one sometime in the process.
The company responded back with detailed feedback on how I tackled the coding question.
Thank you for taking the time to share your interview experience with us. We are always appreciate of any feedback, as it helps us grow our candidate experience throughout the organization.

Interview
This is the first time I write a review so let's go through this. since this deserve a post
PS: I have passed many technical interviews with other big companies such as Amazon, Facebook and google and never faced this, such waste of time.
Interviewer was rude and did not have enough information of me before interview.
I got stuck in the first question, since I did not understand the scope of the problem. I asked for hints so I could pass through that one, everything went downhill from there, the interviewer just did not let me add code, he kept correcting me every time, since I have to had the same answer that he has in his mind apparently.
The interview was in a WORD document, how I am supposed to see even a line of code in there?!!
At this point I just wanted to finish the interview as I could see this as a toxic environment.
Passed to the second question and at this time I knew the answer but again the interviewer kept cutting me and trying to say what he think.
Hello? this is an interview
Last questions about projects.
I would not recommend anyone to work here, I asked some questions on working there and I could see exactly why I would never applied to that again.
