I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Tripadvisor in Mar 2013
Interview
i quickly sent my resume. One or two days later I got email with a coding test link to be finished in one week. It's two-question within one hour. about stack and array. I screwed it up and got rejected on next day. I guess it's because it was not the answer they expected to hear.

They have required time and space complexity, so you need to come up with the right one right away. cuz you only have 30 minutes for each question and the question description was quite long...

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tripadvisor (Worcester, MA)
Interview
I interviewed on campus, the interviewer was really nice. The interview was mostly behavioral for the first 20 or so minutes then I was asked to solve a coding problem on the whiteboard.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tripadvisor (Needham, MA) in Apr 2018
Interview
They were really kind and quick the whole way through. After a Skype interview and an assignment I was invited on campus, flown into Boston, they even let me stay and visit family. The interview day was speaking to 3 engineers. I knew I messed up the interview, I didn't ask enough questions and my whiteboard code was super sloppy. I don't know what got into me. Anyway, needless to say I was rejected but they were quick and nice about it, took 3 days to get a response.
A company that treats it's employees and even potential employees in the way I was treated is going places, I can tell this is a great place to work. Good luck to anyone else applying, and may TripAdvisor succeed.
