I am writing this review to highlight an unacceptable experience during the interview process at TransPerfect. A friend and qualified minority female candidate had an interview where she was treated with blatant disrespect and insensitivity by one of the German interviewers. What was supposed to be a professional assessment quickly devolved into a deeply uncomfortable and passive aggressively hostile environment.
The interviewer made repeated derogatory jokes at her expense, targeting her in ways that were inappropriate, unprofessional, and discriminatory. Instead of evaluating her skills or experience, the interviewer seemed more interested in mocking her, making her feel unwelcome and diminished throughout the conversation.
This experience was not only disheartening but also reflects extremely poorly on TransPerfect’s recruitment practices and commitment to diversity and inclusion. No one should have to endure such treatment during any stage of the hiring process. If TransPerfect is serious about creating a respectful workplace, they need to address this kind of behavior immediately and hold their interviewers accountable.
I strongly urge the company to provide proper training on bias, harassment, and professional conduct. Until then, I cannot recommend anyone, especially candidates from underrepresented backgrounds, to engage with this organization.
