Interviewer was kind and understanding. I was able to independently solve the questions with ease. Even though the interviewer helps me to pick up. So thats how the interview ends
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Toptal
Interview
The interview process consists of 4 parts: 1. phone call, nothing special, just an HR interview about expectations etc. 2. online codility test, 3 tasks 120 minutes, it is hard, increasingly hard, but if you practice (for me, it took 2 weeks of hard practice) on hackerrank, or any of these websites, you will succeed! 3. online interview with another engineer, talk about some of your experiences then 2 tasks each of them 15 minutes to solve, it is binary rated, so it should pass all the test cases given and that is it. It is not super hard, they are more of medium problems, but the time is short, and the pressure is real. It took me 2 times, I failed the first time. 4. This is a home project which you're supposed to do in 7 days, around ~20 hours of work, it depends on the role you signed up for. For me, it was a fully functional API design and implementation, I recommend you to TDD, they are happy if they see that you did tests and such. This part was not that hard, but you should spend some time on it for sure. All in all, I think this is manageable, but it can be hard if you have a full time job during the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Nothing really technical, if you know your stuff they won't be pushy.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Toptal (Lagos) in Jul 2022
Interview
I had a one on one video call with one of their recruitment staff which was quite pleasant. I guess it was to check my ability to communicate well with English. After that, I was given a coding challenge with 3 questions under 1.5 hours which was quite difficult
