I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Toptal (Mumbai) in Aug 2020
Interview
I got a in mail in Linkedin
1. One phone screening round: General quesitons
2. Video interview: in which I was asked to complete a coding challenge in 15 minutes with timer ticking besides the question screen. I couldn't do it in 15 minutes and was rejected.
Overall pathetic experience. Not a good judge for a developer interview
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Given an array in with char precedence find word:
eg. (["P>E","E>R","R>U"]) = PERU
eg. (["I>N","A>I","P>A","S>P"]) = SPAIN
There are 4 steps. First, classical HR interview mostly to understand if you are good enough to speak English. Second is the Codility style online algorithms test. Third, the screening process in which you share your screen and solve a couple of algorithm questions. Forth, project interview. You develop a project which is basically a full-stack job and they review your code and ask a couple of questions about the project during interview.
I made only the first online screening. I work in the Netherlands for an international company as expat for two years. And interviewer concluded my English is not good in two minutes ?!.
